The trial mining is to collect operation data for the preparation of pre-feasibility study.  [-]

Two open pits will be developed at F1.
Jackleg will be used for drilling to establish safe mining benches.
The blasted muck will be removed by front-end-loader to the crusher station.
The crusher station is equipped with a 400mm by 600mm jaw crusher, load-out conveyor and surge bin.
The crushed ore will be hauled by 5-t dump truck to the leach pad area.

The 1st leach pad is located at the east end of F1 with a design capacity of 35,000 t. The crushed ore is heaped onto the leach pad with a base of impervious plastic sheeting.  [-]

A sprinkler system is then laid along the top of the ore pile through which a solution of dilute sodium cyanide is sprayed and percolates down through the heap, leaching out the gold. Pregnant solution enriched with gold drains off the bottom into the pregnant fluid tank, from which it is pumped through a set of steel towers with activated carbon. The activated carbon absorbs the gold ion.
Leaving the tower, the fluid becomes barren and drains to the barren fluid tank. The fluid is then pumped back to the sprinkling system. The activated carbon will be removed from the tower and sent out for gold recovery.
